A 10‐year‐old castrated male llama was brought to the clinic by his owner for further evaluation of acute lateral recumbency and inability to stand. He had been found down in pasture the day before and was moved into the barn via a tarp. At that time he did get up to eat and drink. Later he was found down again. An examination by the referring veterinarian revealed hypothermia and tachycardia
