Llama with lateral recumbency

Review of Systems

  • General: Slightly underweight, conscious but quiet.

  • HEENT: Noncontributory

  • Pulmonary: Noncontributory

  • Cardiovascular: Tachycardia when down in barn.

  • Gastrointestinal: Noncontributory

  • Genitourinary: One episode of posturing to urinate without producing urine was observed, followed by normal urination some time later.

  • Musculoskeletal: Unable to rise or maintain sternal recumbency, lies in lateral recumbency with minimal movement of limbs.

  • Neurologic: Appears ataxic when assisted to stand.
